CocoRosie

CocoRosie is an American musical duo formed by sisters Sierra (Rosie) and Bianca (Coco) Casady in 2003. Stylistically, they may be assigned to the indie rock or psych folk genres, and are sometimes associated with the New Weird America (or freak folk) movement; additional influences include hip hop and opera.

Sierra mainly plays the guitar, piano and harp, and contributes vocals. Bianca sings and manipulates various children's toys/electronic & percussion instruments. CocoRosie performs as a duo and also with other backing musicians on occasion, usually a bassist and either a drummer or beatboxer. They were active for most of 2004, 2005 & 2006 playing dates across the US and making several trips to Europe for tours playing with TV on the Radio, Bright Eyes, Devendra Banhart and others.

In late 2006 they appeared as a featured act at the Touch and Go Records 25th anniversary block party in Chicago along with Big Black, Scratch Acid, Killdozer, The Ex, Uzeda and many others.

Blue Man Group

Blue Man Group (Blue Man, BMG) is a creative organization founded by Phil Stanton, Chris Wink, and Matt Goldman; it is centered on a trio of mute performers, called Blue Men, who present themselves in blue grease paint, latex bald caps, and black clothing. Blue Man participation, sophisticated lighting, and large amounts of paper. It is also noted for having a "poncho section" of the audience; in the front rows, audience members are provided with plastic ponchos in order to protect them from various foods, substances, paints, and so on, which get thrown, ejected, or sprayed from the stage. The shows are family-oriented, humorous, energetic and often employ thought-provoking satire on modern life. Most of the humor breaks the fourth wall, for example, interrupting the show to ridicule latecomers in the audience.

Cafeaua

Este intr-adevar un adevarat ritual bautul cafelei dimineata...Deschid ochii si incerc sa ma ridic din pat... via bucutarie, si anume ibric -aragaz - cafea - zahar. Deschid fereastra si astept sa fiarba. Privesc spre cer si ma intreb cum va fi astazi vremea. Astept..astept...mai e putin pana spuma neagra se ridica la nivelul buzei ibricului. Si urca, urca, si desi sunt acolo numai ochi la Ea, de cele mai multe ori Ea da in foc. Dar asa e mult mai buna, iar aroma se raspandeste peste tot in bucatrie si camera si cu cat aroma e mai puternica, cu atat pofta e mai mare. O torn pe doamna neagra in ceasca mea colorata de cafea, imi aprind o tigara si imi iau locul in scaunul de la birou. Prima sorbitura ma ridica spre nori, ma duce spre soare, ma plimba leganandu-ma si ma pregateste pentru ce va urma, alte noi sorbituri si o noua zi.
Imi place sa-mi beau cafeaua de dimineata. Traiesc niste momente deosebite, chiar daca faptul in sine nu e cu nimic iesit din comun...

Mariza Reis Nunes

Mariza Reis Nunes is a fado singer. Growing up, and until she became a fado singer, Mariza sang in a wide variety of styles, including gospel , soul and jazz. Released in 2001, Mariza's first album, Fado em Mim, was an instant success in Portugal, selling more than 30,000 copies. This led to her recording company launching the disc internationally and taking advantage of the good reception that Portuguese music was enjoying at the time in Europe and in other countries, such as Mexico and Japan.
When Mariza's second album, Fado Curvo, was released in 2003, she was already considered as one of the best singers of what some call the new Fado movement. Mariza's voice, which harks back to the grand divas of the musical form, like the eternal Amalia Rodrigues, and her impassioned interpretations of Fado standards brought her great international recognition in a short amount of time, leading to her being the recipient, in March 2003, of BBC Radio 3's award for Best European Artist in World Music.
